Shownotes
I met one of my best friends, Jachael Gardner, 6 years ago via Craigslist. I was looking for a place to live in Los Angeles, and quickly after meeting each other, we started sharing a tiny room in Brentwood. It was the least glamorous but most fun time of my life!
In this episode, I asked Jachael to share her life story that’s always fascinated me. She has gone from a sheltered, abusive childhood and homelessness to building a new reality, while always staying unapologetically herself. Without realizing it, she’s been led by her inner voice to where she is now – safe, grateful, inspirational. She recently graduated from UCLA with a Master’s Degree in Public Health and is now doing meaningful work as a public health practitioner at UCLA.
If you’re lucky to not have had experienced trauma in your life, Jachael’s story is a lesson and inspiration to us all on how to handle (and thrive!) through life’s unfortunate events.
The Takeaways:
- Don’t be afraid to be open. Just talk to people about your problems and ask for help. You will be amazed at how many doors will open for you!
- When something bad happens, talk to yourself. Hug yourself, wipe away your tears and show yourself what a beautiful life you’ve created for yourself.
- The grass may be greener on the other side, but someone’s gotta water that grass too!
